3 John 1:3 For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. (NKJV)

JOHN THE BELOVED was writing to Gaius brother who was a leader in the fellowship. He commended because of the testimony of the brethren that was reported to him. He was living according to the truth. His life was consistent with scriptures and this brought joy to him. The testimony of sincere and godly brethren is one of the precious things that we can receive in the fellowship of the Christian community.
It is as we interact with one another that what it is in us will show up. When the good virtues manifest we are commended. But when we talk, act, respond or behave in a way that is not consistent with scriptures we should be called to order. In a sincere fellowship rebuke and correction are avenues that shapes our characters. We commend those who do right and correct those who are walking in error.
The response of the believer is to have a proper reflection and make necessary adjustments. Gaius’ truthfulness brought joy to John. When we walk in truth our leaders will be proud of our lives. In the same church Demetrius had a good testimony but Diotrephes was rebuked for always putting himself first. What is your testimony among the brethren? If it is good, continue; but if it is bad change and make adjustments. Selah!
PRAYER: O LORD help me to live godly even in the fellowship of the Christian community in Jesus name.
