Deuteronomy 4:6 Therefore be careful to observe them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the peoples who will hear all these statutes, and say, “Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.’ (NKJV)

DEUTERONOMY, second law consists of mainly a repetition of the laws that God had already given to the people of Israel. Moses reminded them that they keep and do the words that God has commanded. He added that this will be a demonstration of wisdom in the sight of other nations. The outstanding example of Israel among the nations reveals the contrast between Jehovah and idols. The great blessing of serving God is not in outward show but in simple obedience to Jehovah. Their wisdom principally is in obeying the commandments of God.
Obedience to God’s instructions is the greatest demonstration of true wisdom. Jesus also in the sermon on the mount likens obedience to a wise man that builds his house on a rock. The rain, storms and floods descended on it but it still stood firm. Obedience to God’s word is the greatest wisdom you can exhibit in every situation because your protection, preservation and prosperity is attached to it.
The prosperity of Israel in all ramifications (physically, spiritually, financially, militarily and materially) was so far above other nations when they lived in obedience to God’s word. Your obedience to God is a show of your wisdom. Will you embrace it today? Complete and holistic obedience to His commands and instructions.
PRAYER: O LORD help me to live in obedience to your instructions in Jesus name.
