TOPIC: THE RIGHT PATH FOR LIVING
TEXT:Jeremiah 6:16(NLT) So now the Lord says, “Stop right where you are! Look for the old, godly way, and walk in it. Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls. But you reply, ‘No, that’s not the road we want!’
PREACH
You are what you are because of decisions. A man or woman is the sum total of all the decisions that he or she has made and that has been made for him or her. The right path for living though ancient has been marked out by God. However, most people refuse to take God’s path, going their own way instead.
As our wealth multiplies, our reputation becomes established, our circle of friends increases and the temptation to rely on ourselves and seek our own way instead of God grows. Each and every day we are faced with a decision, going God’s old but true way, or following a new path of our own choosing. Beloved, don’t be misled. The only way to find peace and “rest for your soul” is to walk on God’s path. The rest promised in the above scripture is love, healing and peace with God. A relationship with God changes meaningless, wearisome toil into spiritual productivity and purpose.
PRAYER
O Lord my God help me to walk on Your pathway all the days of my life.
PONDER
Don’t be enticed by apparent shortcuts that seem right but end in death.
PRACTICAL
Make it practical this week by walking on the ancient godly path.
