Mark 6:5 And because of their unbelief, he couldn’t do any mighty miracles among them except to place his hands on a few sick people and heal them. (NLT)

JESUS CHRIST our Lord and Savior took upon Himself one-day to pay a visit to his own people. Upon arrival, he went to the synagogue on the Sabbath day and taught them with wisdom and mighty works and the people were astonished. Their familiarity with Him hindered them from expecting more and they deprived themselves of receiving the fullness of the blessings of Christ. Instead of them thanking God for such a wonderful opportunity they trivialized His personality and He could not do mighty works there because of their unbelief.
Unbelief is a deliberate decision to reject faith in God, a person or situation. And as we see in our text it limits our access to the manifestations of the power of God in our lives. Jesus who used to heal all who were oppressed no sooner He shows up now only healed just a few people, not because of His inability but the unbelief of the people.
What have you lost because of unbelief? How have you deprived yourself of the mighty works of God because of lack of faith? It is high time you repented and begin to trust God with childlike faith. Many a times our lingering in challenging situations is a product of our lack of faith in the omnipotence of God to turn our situation around. Trust God today and see His power at work in your life.
PRAYER: O LORD help me to trust you completely in all situations. Deliver me from being too familiar with you and lose my miracle in Jesus name.
