2 Samuel 8:6 – Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus: and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought gifts. And the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went. [KJV]

DAVID KING OF ISRAEL was a great warrior that never lost any battle. 2 Samuel 8 records some of his great victories. He brought great spoils from battle but the secret of his exploits is that he was preserved by God wherever he goes (2 Samuel 8:14). Because of this the onslaught of his enemies did not prevail against him.
David was a mighty leader who raised mighty men that fought alongside him. Nevertheless the secret of his victory was that God preserved him. His victuals and military skills were not just enough for his conquests. He needed divine impute to secure victory. Remember he always enquired of the Lord before stepping out.
You can learn from David by seeking the Lord and securing his approval before venturing out. Let’s not depend on our strength, skills and structures alone. We must secure divine aid so that we can be preserved even in the midst of serious opposition. God is able to preserve you and keep you from the wiles, schemes and onslaught of the enemy. He is faithful.
PRAYER: O LORD as I trust in you preserve me today from the wiles and schemes of the enemy in Jesus name.
