Bride of Christ Devotional, 13th October, 2023
1 Samuel 16:18 Then one of the servants answered and said, “Look, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, who is skillful in playing, a mighty man of valor, a man of war, prudent in speech, and a handsome person; and the LORD is with him.” (NKJV)

SAUL the king of Israel was troubled by an evil spirit and he needed a man that can play the harp very well. Meanwhile when David was in the field he developed some skills that were now needed to deliver Saul from the evil spirit. Developing strategic skill-set now is important because it prepares you for future possibilities. It is not in the day of opportunity that you do them. There is a season of preparation for that.
David had several good qualities. In the description of his personality we see that he was a man of war and God was with him. When you build a godly character and a specific skill-set it creates opportunities for you that you can enter into and transform your life permanently. David was recommended by another based on his abilities and then he was a blessing to Saul. Whenever he played the harp the evil spirit that troubled Saul was casted out.
What are your skill-sets? What are the ones that you are developing? It is the ones that you develop to an accurate level of proficiency that will open doors for you. You can start developing one or some today that aligns with God’s program for your life. When you do it will create unlimited possibilities for you.
PRAYER: O LORD help me to strategic skill-sets so that I will be positioned to accomplish your will in Jesus name.
