ATTITUDE OF BENEVOLENCE

Bride of Christ Devotional, 14th August, 2023

Luke 5:7 So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. (NKJV)
_______________

JESUS CHRIST who is our Lord and Savior came to the lake of Gennesaret he had a need for a vessel to minister because the people pressed on Him to hear the word. One Simon offered his ship and from there he ministered to the people. When he concluded His ministration He asked Simon to launch out into the deep. Though Simon expressed his disappointment, he chose to obey at the words of Jesus. That singular obedience brought abundance to him. When abundance came he called on others to help him. That also was a blessing to others.

A disposition of doing good to others is necessary when God blesses us. When Simon received a draught, he beckoned on others to come and help him. Their coming means that they also had their boats filled. The attitude of benevolence of Simon and others brought joy and gladness to the others.

Let us not keep the blessings we receive from God to ourselves alone. Let’s remember others. Let your life be a channel of thanksgiving to God from the lips of others. God blesses us that we can be a blessing to others. Allow your life to be a channel of blessing to others.

PRAYER: O LORD as you bless me help me to be a blessing to others in Jesus name.
