SPIRITUAL IMPUTE IS NEEDED

Bride of Christ Devotional, 20th December, 2023

Ezra 5:2 Then rose up Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and began to build the house of God which is at Jerusalem: and with them were the prophets of God helping them. (KJV)
_______________

ISRAEL had just come captivity and one of the projects they started with was the rebuilding of the temple that was destroyed by the Babylonians. They started and they were stopped but this time they continued. As they continued with the work, the priests also were on ground to help them. This was a physical engineering project. What does priests (who are principally saddled with the responsibility of spiritual sacrifices) have to do with this work? Our text says they were around to help. This tells us that in any project that we undertake as Christians we need the help of God.

Life is spiritual. No matter what we are doing physically we need the impute of spiritual assistance to get it done. But it is sad to say today that many Christians have limited their spirituality to congregational worship. They don’t realize that in the workplace, classroom and boardrooms it is needed for victory.

As they were building a decree came from the king for them to continue their work. They were able to complete the work through prophetic words (Ezra 6:11-14).

This tells us that life is primarily spiritual. And that whatever we see physically today has first been settled in the Spirit. The spiritual rules the physical. Whatever we do as believers let us seek for spiritual clearance and having obtained it we can prevail in the physical.

PRAYER: O LORD help me to seek for spiritual help in whatever project I am undertaking in Jesus name.
