Psalm 119:128 Therefore all Your precepts concerning all things I consider to be right; I hate every false way. (NKJV)
______________
PERSPECTIVE describes ones mental view or prospect. It also refers to a visible scene. It is important to have a proper perspective of every subject that is under consideration. Our text gives a holistic summary of the view of the Psalmist about God’s word. He confessed affirmatively that the word of God concerning all things is right. No matter what is the subject matter as long as the word of God speaks about it, he embraces it with all his heart. This made him to hate falsehood with perfect hatred.
Today in the fellowship of the Christian community (the body of Christ) our perspectives on various subjects has affected our obedience. There are some who think that it impossible to live a life that is free from sin. Because of this perspective they condone sin and compromise even though the Bible teaches that without holiness no man shall see God.
We become what we see. If you have a distorted view of scripture it will affect the way you live. But when you have a conviction like the Psalmist in our text and you know God’s word is right, this will help you to cry to God for help so that your life will be in alignment with His word. What is your perspective about God’s word? Do you believe that everything in it is right? Then strive to live in alignment with it. If what is written is not yet finding expression in your life, cry for help and the written word will become your practical experience.
PRAYER: O LORD I believe in the veracity of your word. Help me today to live according to what is written in it in Jesus name.
