Mark 9:25-26 When Jesus saw that the crowd of onlookers was growing, he rebuked the evil spirit. “Spirit of deafness and muteness,” he said, “I command you to come out of this child and never enter him again!” Then the spirit screamed and threw the boy into another violent convulsion and left him……………(NLT) *____________________________*
SPIRITUAL AUTHORITY has been given to every believer that is Christ Jesus by virtue of our placement in him. This authority is is a delegated one because of our connection to Christ. Jesus had just come from the mount of transfiguration with the three disciples (Peter, James and John). He met a situation where a boy was brought with palsy whom the disciples could not help. When the father brought the son to Jesus the spirit tare him again in the presence of Jesus (Mark 9:20). Though Jesus was there His presence was not enough for casting him out. It was when Jesus rebuked the spirit that deliverance came.
Demons were not afraid whenever Jesus came. There was a time they even conversed with him and asked for permission to be sent into the swine. What will dispel demons is the exercise of our spiritual authority in Christ. Whenever we observe their presence in any situation, we must speak based on the authority we have been given in Christ to cast them out. Remember we have been given power (authority) over all unclean spirit. Dear believer, what are you doing with it? It is not in knowing alone that the deliverance will come, it is in your wielding that authority that Jesus has given to you.
What oppression are you suffering? Do you sense any strange spiritual oppression around you? Then it’s time to rise up and use your authority in Christ. When you speak in Jesus name with the authority of Jesus Christ, they will obey you.
PRAYER:O LORD thank you for the authority you have given me in Christ Jesus, help me to exercise it always for my deliverance in Jesus name.
