Luke 17:12-13 – And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.

JESUS CHRIST our Lord and Saviour always was moving to Jerusalem and he passed through Samaria and Galilee. He met these lepers in our text who stood afar off and cried for mercy. These men understood their condition. They were separated from society because of their ailment and they live outside the city. When they met Jesus they stood afar off and cried for mercy. They knew that their disease was contagious and has the potential of making others unclean. So they had to stay afar and then cry for mercy. There are vital lessons that we can learn from their comportment which led to their cleansing.
These men understood their condition before they cried for help. You see brethren if you are going to receive cleansing from the Lord you must acknowledge the sin and uncleanness that is trapped in your vessel. Mercy and truth goes together. You must confess your sins and own up to your actions; that is truth.
When they cried to the Lord they expected Him to have mercy on them. Because the expression of God’s mercy will lead to the cleansing that they desired, in their case it was leprosy. When you also cry to God for mercy you must believe that He has forgiven you. God is merciful. When He forgives our sins He does not remember them again. When you cry sincerely for God’s mercy He will definitely cleanse you. Why not cry today for help?
PRAYER: O LORD today cleanse my life from all iniquity by being merciful to me and give me grace to live right in Jesus name
