Bride of Christ Devotional, 22nd September, 2023
Deuteronomy 4:30-31 – When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice; (For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them. [KJV]

MERCY is one of the attributes of God. Mercy is an act of leniency and compassion extended to a person who has offended Our God is a merciful God. Our text outlines that if Israel goes into trouble as a result of their disobedience and rebellion towards God, if they will return to God and be obedient unto His voice, then God will not forsake them or destroy them. This is a demonstration of the mercy of God.
Disobedience is costly and it always carries consequences. But the Lord God is assuring His people that if they can only be obedient to His voice and then come to Him will be merciful to them. Many people today have realized their wrong doings but have not come back to God. When they look at the things that they have done and the level of their iniquity they see themselves as unworthy of the embrace of God. My brother is that your condition? Have you gone deep into sin and iniquity thinking there is no hope? Sister has abortion, sexual immorality and all manner of defilement and its guilt keeping you back from Him. Don’t allow that. Yes you have sinned but remember He is merciful.
Come and experience this today. Look at his promise in Psalms 103:3 Who forgives [every one of] all your iniquities,…… (AMP). This scripture validates the mercy of God. You only need to confess your sin and it doesn’t matter how far you have God He will extend His mercy to you because He is a merciful God.
PRAYER: O LORD GOD today extend your mercy unto me today and cleanse me in Jesus name.
