PAUL’s EPISTLE to the churches in Galatia was primarily to address a matter of believers seeking to return to the law after being saved by faith. This feat would have been accomplished by the distortion of the true gospel of Christ Jesus. In our text Paul now admonishes believers that even if another person or an angel preaches a different gospel to them, the individual is cursed. He was trying to tell them to stay with the true gospel of Christ Jesus whose goal is to bring men into the kingdom of God and help them live for God.
Today there are so many people preaching messages that do not align with the gospel of Christ. So what is the gospel? The gospel is the good news of Christ Jesus which liberates men from sin. So Paul saying if another person no matter his designation comes with something contrary we must not take it.
The only thing that must regulate our preaching, practice and profession should be the gospel of Christ and nothing but the gospel. Our consecration, conviction, conduct and character must be a derivative of the gospel of Christ. So as someone who professes to be a Christian the gospel should guide, guard and groom your life.
PRAYER: O LORD help me to stay with the gospel of Christ in whatever I do. Let it determine the conduct of my life in Jesus name.
