FINISHING WELL

Bride of Christ Devotional for Sunday, 27th August, 2023.
TEXT:The Acts 20:24 (God’s Word) But I don’t place any value on my own life. I want to finish the race I’m running. I want to carry out the mission I received from the Lord Jesus–the mission of testifying to the Good News of God’s kindness.

PREACH
Will your Christian life be ridiculed because you were unable to finish well to the extent that everyone who sees you will say “This person began to build and wasn’t able to finish”? Will your Christian life be half built and then abandoned?
To finish well we must study and live by the Word of God on daily basis. In addition we must on daily basis press on in the Holy Spirit’s power, produce the fruits of the Spirit and obediently carry out our God-given assignment of sharing the Gospel. God is looking for more men and women who will focus on their God-given assignment and at the end they will say “I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful” (2 Tim. 4:7).

PRAYER
Lord help me to finish well and strong the Christian race.

PONDER
As Christians our goal in life must be to live a life that glorifies God and brings people to Christ.

PRACTICAL
Make it practical this week by living a life that glorifies God and focus on your God-given assignment of sharing the Good News.
