Isaiah 8:10 Take counsel together, ,but it will come to nothing; Speak the word, but it will not stand, For God is with us.” (NKJV)

EMMANUEL is one of the prophetic names of the Messiah declared by the prophet Isaiah. He was comforting Ahaz the king of Judah and in the midst of that counsel a word came about a virgin conceiving and giving birth to a son and his name will be called Immanuel, meaning God with us. The fulfillment of this prophecy was Jesus Christ. Emmanuel reveals the abiding presence of God and the advantages that comes with it.
In our text the prophet continue to admonish Syria and others that the purposes of God are irresistible. No matter what strategy they will bring they will still not prevail because God is with His people. So when we have the abiding presence of God no matter the odds we will come out victorious.
As we are already in the dawn of a new year let us strive to enter and remain in God’s presence. When He is with us our protection, preservation, provision and progress into limitless possibilities are assured. The divine presence does not mean challenges will not come; but when they do we have an assurance that we will be victorious. Why? Emmanuel! God is with us! Selah
PRAYER: O LORD thank you for keeping me up to this moment. Let your abiding presence be with me throughout this year in Jesus name.
